community crisis counseling program

The Community Crisis Counselling (CCC) Team helps women and their children unable to enter the Shelter because of a lack of space, as well as helping women in the community who are in crisis but choose not to access the Shelter. Counsellors provide safety planning, emotional support, resources and information women need to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.

We are committed to reaching out into the community to ensure as many families as possible get the help they need. As part of the Community Crisis Counselling Program, The Shelter’s Family Violence Prevention Service offers the same services through several community resource centres: Heart of the Northeast, North Central, North Rockyview (Airdrie).

It is important to note that CWES will not leave a woman or child in a dangerous situation.
We will see that she is transported to safety and will help her make plans from a safe place.
