Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter Statement to the Community:
Employee Contract Ratified
Calgary, AB– The Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter’s Board of Directors ratified an agreement with CUPE the evening of May 25, 2009, finalizing negotiations between the two parties.
The ratified agreement contains some minor adjustments to the mediator’s recommendations presented in the negotiation process.
“With calls to our Family Violence Helpline up 200 percent over 2008 and demands on all of our programs increasing, we remain focused on helping the more than 12,000 Calgarians hurt by family violence who seek our help,” says Lisa Falkowsky, Executive Director of the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter.
