Our fundraising team finds incredible inspiration in the humble generosity of our donors. This generosity is particularly obvious in the many donors who ask for gifts for the Shelter instead of gifts for themselves each year.

Along with many brides and grooms, newly-turned 50-year-olds and entire families during Christmas, each year dozens of children ask their family and friends to donate to the Shelter in lieu of gifts.

Dozens of young girls and boys, forgo birthday and holiday gifts, and with sweet, shy smiles deliver envelopes and boxes teaming with financial donations, gift cards, toys and clothing for women and children fleeing abuse.

We invite you to follow the lead of our most hope-filled donors.

By asking your friends and relatives to give to the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter in lieu of holiday, birthday or wedding gifts, you'll create a fun, meaning-filled experience they won't soon forget.
