Emergency Shelter Tour
Is it difficult to imagine what it's like to feel unsafe in your own home? Have you thought about the courage it takes to make that first call to the 24 hour Family Violence Helpline or go to an Emergency Shelter?

Many people who support Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter are curious to see what an Emergency Shelter is like. Some people who are worried about an abusive relationship might be unsure of what services are available and what it's like to make that call.

Here's a chance to see inside the Emergency Shelter. This video tour is one woman's story -- though this story isn't real, it is based on many real stories that took place at Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter over the past year. You may be surprised to see that the Emergency Shelter is a place of comforting surroundings, a place of hope -- it's a place of new beginnings.

We hope watching this video will provide insight into family violence, how to access the many services we offer and provide a glimpse of what it is like for the thousands who are affected by family violence. By watching the following video, and passing the link on to friends, you're Taking a Stand against family violence. Thank you.
