Creative fundraising in an economic downturn
The Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter has been and continues to be creative in its approach to fundraising.
The organization receives a portion of its annual budget from different sectors of government but must raise more than 50% annually to meet the operating needs of programs and services.
From the online gala, pledge pages, the Wishbook Charity catalogue, by supporting individuals, groups and companies who do their own fund-raisers on our behalf, as well as a range of other initiatives, the organization continues to drive home to donors that they can make a difference and help us work towards a society free from family violence.
